Traditional

Traditional Interior Design has its roots in classic European style and décor. Here you will find much more texture and embellishment than Modern or Transitional Design. Ornamental, carved, or turned wood legs on furniture, button tufting, rich and luxurious fabrics like velvet are indicative.  “Wing” style arm chairs, and period type styles, like Queen Anne and Chippendale, abound.

It’s common for antique or heirloom furniture to be incorporated in traditional design and that style is still captured in new furnishings from furniture companies today.

Traditional design often features elaborate moldings, archways and columns for architectural features.  Wallpaper may sometimes be used to add embellishment to walls. Dark woods with high reflective surfaces, decorative in-lay,  veneers, and  beveled edges are typical of traditional style wood furniture.
